They all look different - try around the back of the Post Office (or what used to be the "crown" Post Office) - often they're hideous 1960s concrete jobs - but other times they're much much older.

Mine is a very large building next to Royal Mail (In fact allways seems to be next to Royal Mail or at least very close to it) It has lots of radio antenas on the roof and generally looks like a very large office building with a couple BT vans outside. I haven't got a picture though lol.

Funny, mines right next to the royal mail sorting office too. It is a really hideous concrete building, an eyesore.

More than likely they're near post offices becuase the telecoms used to be owned by the post office if my limited knowledge serves me correctly.

Maybe James can pop down to the High Street, Madeley to take a snapshot of the exchange with BT if he ask BT polite!

LOL. I pay for your taxi-fare!

Most exchanges were built when BT was the Post Office which is why a lot of them are still located next to post offices.

Exactly - all part of the General Post Office - aka GPO.

Usually it's the Royal Mail that have moved from the expensive town centre real estate to some counters at the back of the Co-Op to replace the old busy town centre Crown Post Offices and industrial estates on the edge of town for their sorting and delivery offices.

Ha typed in my post code on there and the Ariel picture is at least 10 years old. I get shown a industrial warehouse, definatly where I live though. Nothing compared to my nice housing estate thats now here.

Why are Microsoft copying Google anyways?

Mine is the white/brown building joined together in the middle of the pic:

(no, all the white vans just south of that are not BT vans - its a caravan sales park  )
